Vacationing golfers can be divided into two categories: Those that want a secluded golf vacation and those that are fine without.
True enough, golf is a fast breaking away of hiatus to become a widely played sport because of one fact; golf courses are erected by the dozen. So while in the past the cost to play is prohibitively expensive, today’s number of golf courses drastically lowered the price of playing golf.
In the past, and that is saying a decade past, golf vacation is rather unheard of. No one says golf vacation because simply it doesn’t exist. Suffice to say, golf vacations on just any part of the globe that hold interesting choices of golf courses now exist.
Where Do You Want To Go For Golf Vacations?
The answer of this question is broadly speaking. And just as the opening sentence stated, it depends on the vacationing golfer, whether he likes a tour worthy challenge or a relaxed, laidback setting typical to any old English gentlemen golfer. And also, if he chooses the beaches as a secondary tease option.
Palm Springs in California is one of the popular destinations for golf vacations. That is because most of the important golf courses that host tournaments and PGA Tours are there. There is the PGA West Jack Nicklaus Course, the PGA West TPC Stadium Course, the PGA West Greg Norman Course, the Mission Hills Golf Club – Dye Course and the La Quinta Golf Resort – Dunes Course. In the Caribbean, and several other south summer destinations made also huge leaps to become golf vacations destinations themselves. The Bahamas for instance, have started making waves as golf courses designed by renowned golf course designer started popping out, competing with the Caribbean market of golf courses. And it wouldn’t be long when Bahamas golf destinations like The Lucayan Course and The Reef Course at Out Lucaya becomes one of hosts of PGA level games. Hawaii, with its Kapalua Golf Club, The Plantation Course and The Bay Course, Princeville Resort and Golf Course, Mauna Kea Resort and Golf Course, is already a serious golf vacation destination.
Northern destinations, like in Italy and in Scotland is still a prominent destination, albeit a faded one. The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is said to be the oldest golf organization and pro golfers do visit the place from time to time like any golf Mecca. Off the beaten track golf destination like the Cruden Bay Golf Club offer golf vacationers a rare treat of golf, in an old English accent.
European golf destinations, like Golf Club Perugia Sodi di Santa Sabina at Santa Sabina, Italy which is an 18 hole challenge and other Italian golf courses like Conero Sirolo and Antognolla Golf maintain a high standard in the golfing game. Rome vacationing golfers can take on the tour worthy golf courses Le Querce Golf Club and the Marco Simone Golf Club. Both are currently in the topmost ranks of golf courses in Italy and both have played pivotal parts in the Italian golf culture.
There is no shortage of golf courses really, whatever the need. Relaxed play or competitive level of play, there are golf courses that offer challenge accordingly.
