Putting Green
The recent resurgence of golf had made it clear: putting greens are the most worthwhile addition to any homes, especially golfer homes. That is because aside from the aesthetics of having a well tended, manicured backyard or lawn, to have an extremely convenient access to work out your short game, like putt control and such provides the most irresistible opportunity.
In the past, golf interest was real bleak due to the blatant fact that it only caters the affluent. Golf courses at that time were only a smattering few, thus allowing them to name their own admission prices. And to forge a culture of more affluence within the golf club, walk in guests can’t play, only the club members. And the cost to maintain club membership is astronomically high, way beyond the average earning American’s salary. In short, there’s just no way for common American to play and enjoy the sport.
The recent resurgence however came when it became clear there’s money to be made with golf courses. Golf courses are normally aesthetic and gorgeous, that is because it is made to be that way. Now when real estate developers saw that the unused tracts of golf courses, like the fringes of the fairway, the “out of bounds” area can be developed and sold as real property; thus came the new revolution of golf courses: golf course homes and real estate. Thrilled of having a home unit within a majestic golf course thousands of hopeful home seekers signed papers of ownership, and real estate became good business in areas like Palm Springs and Myrtle Beach. Golf course developers were so much caught up in developing real estate golf courses that now there was a massive vacuum for golfers. With a choice of so many golf courses, visitors and patrons became a problem. Facing crisis, these golf courses opened doors to the public. Everyone can play. They lowered the green fee so that everyone can play. The fever caught on and everyone wants now to play, socialize, and make golf a worthy weekend activity. Then came the golf equipment manufacturers. To cater these new bred of golfers, big names of golf like Callaway created (or bought) sister companies like Top Flite to cater exclusively to this middle market. Now golf courses weren’t the rich man’s sport.
Americans are now treated with a more budget friendly, non discriminating golf. And also, it made the Americans aware of the fact: that anyone can have their own backyard putting green.
Every household loved to have their own putting green for those good reasons previously stated. I would even recommend backyard putting green on non golfer households. It’s even a reasonably wise expenditure; in fact, reports made by recent home appraisals have shown having such feature in one’s home can significantly raise home value. If you’re considering for home equity in the near future, well this provides that needed boost without wasting money. And yes, home putting green functions very much like any other backyard, albeit significantly more good looking. Bring a cot or a hammock, the pleasant tranquility mostly associated to such place makes it a great place to relax. Barbeques, children’s parties, Sunday picnics, as long as the quality of the green is thoroughly maintained, it also becomes the most suitable place to hold such occasions.
The choice of using synthetic grass materials for home putting greens also became an appealing choice for households that don’t have the capacity to fulfill meticulous maintenance. These synthetic grasses, made from plastic, polypropylene or nylon, resembles so true to natural grass that only the absence of the soil becomes a dead giveaway. Also, indoor putting green makes better use for synthetic grass, where sunshine and precipitation is absent.
